JENNIFER ALLEN

Owner/Speech Language Pathologist/Trained Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist

Growing Talkers, LLC was started in June 2022 by Jennifer Allen, M.S. CCC-SLP, TOM. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Texas Christian University, which she graduated from in 2000. Jennifer proceeded to earn a Masters of Science in Communication Disorders in 2006 from University of Texas at Dallas. Jennifer holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed by the state of Texas in speech-language pathology. In August 2023 Jennifer trained to become an Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist.

At UTD, Jennifer was introduced to many areas of speech and language pathology and decided that pediatrics is where her heart was. Jennifer started her Speech and Language career in Mesquite ISD, where she fell in love with the preschool age group of kids aged 3-4 years. Over the years, she has been a supervisor for SLP-Assistants, has worked in the home-health setting, in a variety of school settings and has maintained a private clientele since 2010. Jennifer has an active relationship with many East Dallas private schools and preschools, as she often sees clients in school settings.

Jennifer believes that the most functional therapy is achieved in the patients’ natural environments and encourages therapy to take place in homes or schools. In addition, she believes that parents, caregivers and school personnel should be educated in how to best achieve communication in children. Her mission is to share her expertise with caregivers so that they can encourage communication in kids within their home or school settings.

Jennifer lives in Lake Highlands with her husband Patrick, her three children Charlie, Collier and Julia Bess and their Aussie-doodle Louie.
